The CCSI2 and Toolset Support Leadership Team held the first 2017 Leadership Team meeting at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory on April 19-20, 2017. This meeting presented results of ongoing and plans for future work in: materials characterization; optimal design of experiments; carbon capture device/system modeling, optimization and control; uncertainty quantification; and development of a web-based support community for new and existing users of the CCSI Toolset. This meeting also launched the collaborative effort between the CCSI2 Team and the recent awardees of the Discovery of Carbon Capture Substances and Systems (DOCCSS) Lab call. In this effort, the CCSI2 team will lead the modeling and optimization efforts that will guide development and commercialization of transformational CO2 Capture technologies. The Principal Investigators of the DOCCSS projects presented an overview of their projects in a half-day workshop on April 20th to kick off this latest CCSI2 collaboration.
